After braving the christmas shopping and so on, i focused down on one of the buildings to get the colours right and the details for the rest of the buildings to follow right.
Must sat very very pleased with the result. So a recap of the prodcuts. The building I obtained from Eureka Minatures in Australia, and the walls from Rusus http://www.rusus.de.vu/ as well as the shed and shrine, water trough and dirt heap.
Enjoy the pics will have ones of the other completed buildings as I get to them.
Cheers and a Merry christmas.

You know when your basing you want to get those larger tufts of grass and the pain it is to do those with the loose grass you can buy well no longer a compnay called Silflor
http://www.barrule.com/Workshop/scratch%20builders%20paradise/Silflor.html
have come up with an easy solution and I tell you what it looks grand i've placed an order and will let you know how it goes but I have very high hopes.
Also been trawling through the happy shots from the big game in april and thought i would share some.

An Ode to plastic
Recently I discovered a little ebay company called back to basics http://stores.ebay.com.au/Back-to-Base-ix
and found they sell 3mm plastic sheeting, so i put in an order and ina few days recieved said sheeting and in under 30min had made 50 bases where it would usually take with cardboard a whole lot longer and whats more they seem to be more consitant in shape and won't warp!!
So I decided to rebase the french only having a few french line battalions this is not a major drama and thus when the new regiment comes out they will all be on the same bases.

Cameras and Pictures
So I finally worked out how to use the camera and while they are still not the best shots they are an improvment on the past. Using this new knowledge I decieded to take some new shots of the austrian command stand. Ive been taking stock of the collection and realised just how much work ive put in and how much I have to go as well.
Started work on a new french battalion, the usual undercoat I use is not that impressive so I might have to consider a new product though I think I applied to much. The detail has not been lost though so i think they will still come out on top.
Additionally I started on my 1st 25mm figure and its finished so I'm putting up some pics of him as well. The lad is a grenadier from the revolutionary wars and im really nervous about my first effort so any feedback would be great.
Thats about it from here though after a long break to be back painting and playing is really nice, I tend to forget how much i enjoy this hobby when i take breaks and its refreshing to comeback to it.

Completed some more work on the Command stand. Saddle cloths are complete so now working on the horses and then to basing id say by tomorrow should be very close to competion.
Im really enjoying doing french again so will probably do a line battalion or 2 then swing back to Austrian Grenadiers to complete that brigade.
Cheers

Little Wars Melbourne 2008
So Eureka Minatures Supported the running of 1st Little Wars Melbourne. It was a roaring success. I was involved in the running of the Napoleonic Game. John Baxter, John Chadderton, Craig Pandy, Scott Webster and Myself put on Neumarkt 1809.
We where ably assisted by our 3 assistants by the names Andrew, Baden, and Harly (thier surnames escape me). I was given the command of the Austrians facing off against John baxter as the French. I have to take my hat off to John B he provided the terrain which was amazing and always a joy to play on.
Suffice to say the austrians as in history won. Criag will be putting together a write up of the battle so I will wait till that is done but I will put up a selection of pictures to wet the appitite till then.
